About Akamon Orthopaedic Surgery & Internal Medicine

Founded in 1888, we are a “regional medical provider with a 120-year history in Tateyama.” In addition to our medical goals (i.e. treatment of illness, injury, and disability), our principles include “respect for individuality.” We also aim to be “especially cognizant of our role as a regional medical provider” whose 3rd and 4th-generation presidents have served as chair of the Awa Physicians’ Association.

Our Role as a Regional Medical Provider

  • Facility capable of handling all symptoms related to injury or illness in the field of orthopaedic surgery
  • Medical checkups and heath management
  • Fully equipped with rehabilitation rooms, operating rooms, and surgical equipment
  • Treatment of physical injuries (e.g. fractures) (Level-1 Emergencies)
  • Home-visit medical care
  • Bone density testing

Quality of Life

The word ‘hotel’ has its etymological roots in the word ‘hospital.’ As this suggests, hotel-like elements are a necessary part of any medical facility. A well-maintained environment and comfortable atmosphere help people to feel at ease and improve their health both mentally and physically. Our hospital returns to its etymological roots by building an environment that reflects our desire to “provide mental comfort.” We believe mental comfort encourages a person’s natural healing abilities. This is why we value relationships of mutual trust and personal connection with our patients.
